Big episode for Salome, boys and girls. Talk about it in here.

You know how the Lost writers annoyingly think that character-centric episodes means sidetracking everyone else and spending the entire fucking show in a flashback or flashforward story? Well, they could learn one thing or two from you, MJ.

The last two episodes revealed to us a little bit more of Lokesh's and Salome's histories. What happened to them and how they got to Haven, while also making for some good character development.

Something that I really digged is how you didn't take the easy way with Salome. You could've just as easily have her as another mother who aborted her child as to why she sympathized with Lecia so much, but instead you gave us a different, even sadder story. I like it how Salome understands that she is to blame about the death of her child just as much as Geraldine for the death of their respective children. It shows maturity coming from her, shows that she's come a long way since she was the girl who let her son drown in the bathtub.

Oh, and it's good to have Bekah back. Now we just need Priest to come back and the entire gang of Preachers can start kicking ass together again. ^_^

I have a pretty strict no flashbacks rule for this show, so it felt a bit on the nose to have Salome just explain her story. However, this backdrop gave me the opening to have her do it and not make it out to be "feel sorry for me." It was more "I'm just as much a piece of shit as you are" to Geraldine. It's tricky because I don't want a ton of sympathy for the Field Squad, but I do want readers to understand why they are the way they are.

It was also important to put across that Salome isn't the way she is because of some tragic element to her past. She is who she is and being who she is is why there was tragedy. More to the point, she hasn't really changed since then. It's a sad bit of resignation that I think really worked for the character.

Thanks for reading.

Pro-Life.

All caught up now.  Nice SiB reference, by the way.

Not much I can say about this episode, except it brought back memories of an abortion clinic bombed down the street from where I lived then, back in 97 or 98.  I was just a kid then... but I can remember it all.

And that incubation chamber was scary in my head.  Well done.

Oh and it was AWESOME to have Bekah back.  I missed her.  I liked seeing her leadership style, much different from Priest's.

Solid A here.

Oh, and Mike, when do we get a new episode?  I don't know what to do with myself until then...

I really wanted to do more with that incubation chamber, but I ran up on page count and Salome's story was more important. Plus I figured it made a better visual than a plot point.

Bekah... yeah, she's a sweetie. Very easy to write. I didn't WANT to remove her for the pedo arc, but with everyone losing their tempers, the mother hen of Haven couldn't be around or the tempers wouldn't have gotten as hot as I needed them to get.

New episode? Looking at Monday. I wanted to get a bunch done over this little vacation I took, but I got tied up with other stuff.

Huge revelations about Salome here, but it wouldn't have taken a genius to figure out where you were leading to.

Her character is coming along nicely. Still a bit of a brat in my eyes, though I probably wouldn't say it to her face.  Grin

The whole abortion thing and ripping out of the fetuses for the adoption agency was particularly creepy. It kind of makes you wonder if any of that shit could actually happen in the real world. Although it probably has.  Sad

I can't really say much more about this - other than Becka's back. I'd like to see more her in action. This wasn't a bad episode. But after the previous two, it was tough to beat. Still, had some controversial touches to it.

But then this wouldn't be Creed then, would it?

Rating: 8/10.
